FAQ

Straight answers about GroundMind.

Each capability is labelled Available, In pilot or Planned, matching the product facts.

What does GroundMind do?

GroundMind turns existing cameras into operational intelligence. When a camera reports an event, it analyses the still image, records structured observations, combines them into business events and shows them in a plain-language briefing with the evidence behind each item. Restaurants and hospitality are the first market.

Which cameras are supported?

Ring cameras are Available. Generic RTSP/IP cameras are In pilot. Other camera systems are not supported yet.

Do Ring cameras work?

Yes, Available. You connect your Ring account through Ring's own authorization and choose which cameras GroundMind may use. GroundMind analyses the still image tied to each motion or person event.

Are RTSP / IP cameras available?

In pilot. RTSP cameras can be added and connection-tested, but frame analysis runs on our analysis runtime and is enabled per pilot, together with you.

Are DVR or NVR systems supported?

Not yet. There are no vendor-specific DVR/NVR integrations and no automatic camera discovery. An individual camera that exposes an RTSP stream may be usable in the RTSP pilot.

Does GroundMind integrate with my POS?

No. There are no POS integrations today. Where an estimate needs a value such as average check, you provide it.

Does GroundMind store continuous video?

No. GroundMind works from event-triggered still images. It does not stream, record or keep continuous video.

Does GroundMind use facial recognition?

No. GroundMind does not identify individuals. It records presence of people and groups in the areas you define.

How does the operational analysis work?

Camera event → still image → structured observations matched to your areas → business events that keep links to their observations → your briefing. Real data is always kept separate from simulated examples, and GroundMind says 'not ready' rather than guessing.

What does setup require?

A supported camera, a camera view of the areas you care about, named areas drawn on that view, and your opening hours. Table analysis additionally needs each table and its seat count. We set up your account with you after a demo.

How is pricing determined?

There are three plans: BASIC, PLUS and PRO. Prices are not published yet; a quote depends on the number of locations and cameras and what GroundMind can measure there.

What does Revenue Recovery mean?

Planned. Revenue Recovery will estimate revenue lost to slow table turns and idle capacity, comparing your service to your own best observed service. It depends on table turnover tracking, which is not yet producing real results, so no figures are shown today. When live, it is part of the PRO plan.

Can external AI assistants access customer data?

Not today. A read-only, customer-authorized connection for AI assistants is built but switched off (Planned). When enabled, only an owner or admin can approve it, access can be revoked, and images, video, credentials and personal identifiers are never returned.
